An ongoing Art doll collection, which began in January 2008 as part of my Final Degree Show. Almost 100 different creatures have since been created and one installation raised $700 for the charity ‘Invisible children’ for African child soldiers.
Quirky characters are created using hand embroidery, appliqué, recycled clothing and embellished with old buttons and found objects. Work is inspired by folk art, traditional samplers, African patterns and tribal costumes. Each comes to life as it is given a unique name and awaits its adoption.
