Here are some examples of my artwork and sketchbooks. Layered mixed media and collage are built up to create sketchbook pages, which directly translate into embroidery stitches and appliqué in my textile work. Large stitches with yarn are often used to add texture to paper work or bind my own sketchbooks. Also included here are pages from my art dolls sketchbook- a small book that I carry around with me in order to doodle and plans future creatures. Textures, faces and shapes can initially be inspired by anything. I then turn to an extensive collection of research into patterns and costumes in order to complete each individual doll.
